50. Dino & Barney
(A Case History)I was called to the home of a Beagle named Dino, and a St.
Bernard named Barney. These two dogs were raised together and had always been best
friends. The owners had had them neutered, and they got along just fine.
At about two years of age, the dogs began to compete for the owners attention. If
one dog was being petted, the other would try to get between that dog and the person.
Growling began to occur frequently at feeding time and in doorways, and at last a fight
started.
