| We all have memories of childhood days spent with favorite
dogs, sweet things with wagging tails that used to follow us around and listen to all of
our problems. But what we usually dont remember is that our mothers and fathers
housebroke and trained the dog. We enjoyed a "best buddy" relationship with the
dog and maybe fed it once in awhile. Now that we have children, we must remember that
our role has changed when the family acquires a new dog. We, as adults, must oversee and
shape the dog/child relationship.
